Shipping FAQ - MAA
Where do you ship?
Right now, we ship within the United States only. As we grow, we may expand—but for now, we’re focused on serving our U.S. customers well.
How long does it take to prepare my order?
Each order is packed with care and typically ships within 1–3 business days. During busier times, it may take a little longer, but we always do our best to move things along thoughtfully and efficiently.
How long will it take to arrive?
Once your order is on its way, delivery usually takes about 2–7 business days, depending on where you’re located.
Shipping times are estimates, and while we hope everything arrives quickly, they aren’t guaranteed.
How much is shipping?
We offer free standard shipping on orders over $70.
For smaller orders, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and the carrier.
Who do you ship with?
We ship through trusted carriers like USPS and UPS, depending on what works best for your order and location.
Will I be able to track my order?
Yes. As soon as your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number by email so you can follow it every step of the way.
My package says “delivered,” but I don’t see it—what should I do?
We recommend checking around your home, with neighbors, or your local post office first, as carriers sometimes mark packages delivered a bit early.
If you’re still unable to locate it, please contact the carrier directly. We’re always here to help guide you through that process if needed.
What if I entered the wrong address?
If you notice a mistake, please email us right away at maryann@maasoap.com.
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we’ll do our best to correct it. Once it’s on its way, we’re unable to make changes, so we always recommend double-checking your details at checkout.
What if my package is delayed?
Occasionally, shipping delays can happen due to weather, high volumes, or other factors outside of our control.
We truly appreciate your patience and recommend keeping an eye on your tracking updates for the most accurate information.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If something arrives damaged, please reach out within 3 days of delivery with your order number and a few photos of the item and packaging.
We’ll take a look and work with you to make it right.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If you need to make a change, reach out as soon as possible. We’ll always try to help, but once an order has been processed or shipped, we may not be able to make adjustments.
Do you guarantee delivery dates?
We’re unable to guarantee delivery dates, as timing is determined by the carrier once your package leaves our hands.
Who is responsible once my order ships?
Once a package is marked as delivered to the address provided at checkout, the shipment is considered complete. If any issues come up, the carrier is the best first point of contact—and we’re always here to support you along the way.
Product FAQ — MAA
What makes Maa products different?
Our Mini Nubians and I make everything in small batches, starting with a simple, nourishing foundation—goat milk, olive oil, coconut oil, and other thoughtfully chosen ingredients. From there, each bar becomes its own little expression of care and intention.
“So everything is handmade?”
Yes, every single bar. Nothing is mass-produced. Because of that, no two are ever exactly alike—and I think that’s part of what makes them special.
“I noticed some bars look a little different—why is that?”
That’s completely natural. I work with real ingredients and small batches, so you may see slight differences in color, texture, or shape. It doesn’t change the quality at all—it just means it was made by hand, not a machine.
“Do your soaps really contain goat milk?”
They do. The milk comes from our own goats, and it’s a big part of what makes the bars feel so gentle and nourishing.
“Are your products good for sensitive skin?”
Many people with sensitive skin enjoy them, especially the simpler blends. But everyone’s skin is different, so I always suggest taking a look at the ingredients and trying a small patch first.
“Are your products all natural?”
I focus on using ingredients that feel good on the skin and serve a purpose. Things like nourishing oils and fresh goat milk are at the heart of what I make.
“Do they have fragrance?”
Some do, and some don’t. I offer unscented options, and when I do add scent, it’s always listed clearly so you know exactly what you’re getting.
“Can I use your soap on my face?”
Some people do, especially with the gentler bars. I just recommend checking the ingredients and trying a small area first to see how your skin responds.
“Are your products safe for children?”
They can be used with care, but I always recommend adult supervision.
Keep out of reach of children and pets. See Terms of Service for full safety guidelines.
“What about using them on pets?”
I don’t formulate my products specifically for animals, so I usually suggest sticking with products made just for them unless something is clearly labeled otherwise.
“Do your products expire?”
The soaps themselves don’t have a set expiration date. Because they’re traditionally made and cured, they’ll stay usable over time—though you might notice the scent softens a bit as they age.
Lotions (when they’re introduced) are a little different. They’re made fresh and are best used within about a year.
The best thing you can do is store everything in a cool, dry place and enjoy them while they’re at their best.
“How should I store my soap?”
Letting your soap dry between uses really helps it last longer. A well-draining dish makes all the difference.
“Are your products tested on animals?”
No, never.
“Can they be eaten?”
No—these are made for skin, not for eating.
For external use only. Not intended for ingestion by humans or animals.
“Will your products fix my skin issues?”
They’re made for cleansing and care, not to treat or cure anything. Everyone’s skin is different, so results can vary.
“Are you planning to make anything besides soap?”
Yes, I am. I’m working on expanding into things like lotions, but I take my time with new products. I want everything to feel just right before I share it.
Orders & Returns FAQ — Maa
“What happens after I place an order?”
Once your order comes through, I begin preparing it with care. Most orders are packed and on their way within 1–3 business days. You’ll receive a confirmation and tracking once it ships, so you can follow it along the way.
“Can I make changes after I place my order?”
If you need to change something, reach out as soon as you can at maryann@maasoap.com. If your order hasn’t shipped yet, I’ll do my best to help. Once it’s been processed or sent out, changes may not be possible.
“Can I cancel my order?”
If you need to cancel, please contact me right away. I’ll always try to catch it in time, but once an order has been processed or shipped, I may not be able to cancel it.
“What if I entered the wrong address?”
It happens. Send me a message as soon as you notice, and I’ll do my best to update it before it ships. Once it’s on its way, I’m not able to change the address, so it’s always good to double-check at checkout.
“Do you accept returns?”
Because these are personal care products, I’m not able to accept returns on items that have been opened or used. This helps keep everything safe and hygienic for everyone.
“What items are eligible for return?”
If something is unused, unopened, and still in its original condition, you can request a return within 7 days of delivery. Just reach out and I’ll guide you through the next steps.
“Do I have to pay for return shipping?”
In most cases, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. If there was a mistake on my end, I’ll absolutely take care of it.
“When will I receive my refund?”
Once your return is received and checked, I’ll let you know. If everything looks good, your refund will be sent back to your original payment method. Timing can vary depending on your bank or provider.
“What if my order arrives damaged or something is wrong?”
If something doesn’t arrive as it should, please reach out within 3 days of delivery. A few photos of the item and packaging really help, and I’ll work with you to make it right.
“My package says delivered, but I can’t find it—what should I do?”
First, I recommend checking around your home, with neighbors, or your local post office. Sometimes packages are marked delivered a little early.
If it’s still missing, the shipping carrier is the best place to start. I’m always here to help guide you through that process if needed.
“Do you offer exchanges?”
I don’t offer direct exchanges at this time. If something is eligible for return, you’re welcome to return it and place a new order for what you’d prefer.
“What if I’m unhappy with my order?”
I truly want you to have a good experience. If something doesn’t feel right, please reach out—I’ll always do my best to help in a fair and thoughtful way.
“Should I contact you before filing a dispute or chargeback?”
Yes, please. If something goes wrong, I genuinely want the chance to make it right first. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a simple message.
About Maa — A Few Things You Might Be Wondering
“Where are you located?”
We’re based in California, where everything is made and prepared in small batches. It’s where our goats are cared for, where the soaps are created, and where each order begins its way to you.
“Do you sell in person or at local markets?”
From time to time, yes. I enjoy being able to connect face-to-face and share what I’ve made in person. When I’m attending a local market or event, I’ll always share those details so you can find me. Please sign up for our emails so you can be the first to know what farmers markets I am going to be at.
“Can I order directly from you?”
Yes, you can place orders right here through the website. That’s the easiest and most consistent way to shop what’s available.
“Do you take custom or special orders?”
As things grow, I may open the door to custom orders so please just send me an email to ask. Any custom order will use the foundation ingredients. Please keep in mind it will take time to put together and cure. There will be a minimum order once I start to take orders.
At this time, I am typically I keeping things simple and focused on what I’m currently making in small batches. For now I pour my attention into the products already available.
“Do you offer wholesale?”
At the moment, I’m not offering wholesale. Because everything is made in small batches and with a lot of hands-on care, I want to make sure I can maintain the quality and attention each product deserves.
That said, it’s something I may explore down the road as things naturally grow.
“Will you be expanding your products?”
Yes, slowly and thoughtfully. I’m always working on new ideas—like lotions and other additions—but I take my time to make sure everything feels just right before sharing it.
“Is Maa a large business?”
No, it’s something much smaller and more personal. Everything is made with intention, and each order is handled with care from start to finish.

Our Mini Nubian Farm — A Few Questions You Might Be Wondering
“Where does your goat milk come from?”
It comes from our own small herd of Mini Nubian goats—right here at home. They’re part of our daily life, not just for milk, but as companions we genuinely care for.
“How are your goats cared for?”
They’re cared for with a lot of love, attention, and time. We’re with them throughout the day, making sure they’re comfortable, healthy, and well looked after.
They’re not just animals to us—they’re part of our family, and in many ways, they bring a sense of calm and emotional support to our lives.
“Do the babies get enough milk?”
Always. The babies stay with their mamas and are allowed to drink as much milk as they need. Their nourishment and well-being always come first.
Only after the babies are satisfied do I gently milk the goats.
“How do you handle milking?”
Milking is done carefully and respectfully. Before each milking, I take the time to clean each udder thoroughly. Afterward, I make sure each mama goat is gently cleaned and cared for, so she’s comfortable and well looked after.
It’s a quiet, intentional process—done with attention to both cleanliness and the comfort of the animal.
At Maa, not a precious drop of this milk goes to waste.
“Are your goats healthy and tested?”
Yes. Our herd is annually & regularly cared for with the support of our two veterinariana, and we also conduct health testing through UC Davis.
Keeping our goats healthy isn’t just important—it’s something we stay closely involved in.
“Are your goats registered?”
They are. Our goats are registered with the Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA) and The Miniature Goat Registry (TMGR).
This helps ensure strong, reliable milk lines and supports responsible breeding practices.
“Can I see your goats?”
Yes—you’re always welcome to visit virtually and see a bit of their world here:
www.playfulpetite.org
It’s a lovely way to connect with them and see how they live. I also post their photos and videos on my facebook and instagram page.
“Why goats?”
They’ve become something much deeper than we ever expected. They bring joy, calm, and connection into our lives every day.
What started as a love for goats has grown into something that feels grounding and meaningful—and that care carries into everything we make.
“Does this really make a difference in your products?”
“Does this really make a difference in your products?”
I believe it does.
Goat milk—especially from our Mini Nubians—brings something special to the way a bar feels on the skin. It’s naturally rich in vitamins and minerals, and it helps create a creamy, gentle lather that many people really enjoy.
The natural fats in the milk can add a feeling of softness and moisture, which is part of what makes the bars feel nourishing rather than drying.
Because it’s a simpler, more gentle ingredient, many people with sensitive skin are drawn to it—but everyone’s skin is different, so experiences can vary.
And beyond the ingredients themselves, there’s also where it comes from. When milk is cared for from the very beginning—through healthy animals, thoughtful milking, and small-batch making—it carries a different kind of intention all the way through.
It’s not just about what’s in the bar, but how it was created.
